The Head of Retail will be responsible for the primary management and success of the UK store portfolio comprising two brands and four stores including a New Bond Street flagship with new store openings planned for 2023, directing all operational aspects of each store and driving sales whilst effectively managing costs in line with budgets.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience as an Area Manager or Head of Retail managing a small UK store portfolio including a Central London flagship. Expertise in luxury goods, (bags, small leather goods and accessories) and clienteling strategy is essential.
Sales & Profit
Together with the senior management team, agree sales objectives and store targets.
Manage and deliver KPI's and business key indicators.
Monitor daily, weekly and monthly results and build action plans to drive results.
Implement clear processes and procedures with the sales team to ensure a consistent, personalised customer experience.
Analyse sales reports for each store, including bestsellers and feedback to the senior team.
Understand and identify business priorities and develop retail and clienteling initiatives with the store managers.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of the luxury leather goods market including competitors and customers.
Develop strong relationships with store management teams.
Support store teams in maintaining a personalised customer experience.
Lead by example and through each team, managing, motivating and supporting store managers and store teams.
Listen, support and communicate efficiently and effectively.
Organize weekly team meetings and training for store managers and team members.
Proactively support staff competencies and individual development plans.
Recruit high-performing team members anticipating recruitment needs with HR.
Delegate efficiently and follow up to check on progress and the quality of work.
Oversee stock control and shrinkage in line with operational guidelines.
Participate in all stocktakes and identify any areas for improvement, (opening on time, preparation, negative stock and faulty stock).
Ensure the store teams maximise the use of all retail tools, HR support and support days.
Manage, recruit and prepare for all new store openings.
Area Manager or Head of Retail with a minimum of 5 years of UK-based experience in luxury leather goods and accessories.
Expertise in managing a small growing UK store portfolio including a Bond Street flagship.
Expertise in delivering a high-performance clienteling strategy and store experience.
Highly organised with the ability to multi-task, plan and execute strategy.
Operational and practical mindset considering the day-to-day and bigger picture.
Proven track record in hiring and retaining high-performing teams.
Exceptional interpersonal and management skills supporting people at all levels.
